How to Make a Gift
The Robert and Kaye Barbee Fellowship in Adult Pulmonary Medicine
This fellowship was created to honor Dr. Robert A. Barbee and his wife Kaye on the occasion of his retirement and to continue the high standards of pulmonary care and clinical research that Dr. Barbee provided during his many years of service to the University of Arizona.
The Robert and Kaye Barbee Fellowship in Adult Pulmonary Medicine is a three-year fellowship that provides subspecialty training in pulmonary disease and an extensive introduction to research in respiratory medicine. Clinical training will be emphasized during the first and second years at University Medical Center and the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System. This training will include rotations in critical care, pulmonary function laboratory, adult pulmonary consultation services, and sleep disorders laboratory. In the later part of the second year and the third year, the fellow will participate in a research project and will assist in teaching pulmonary and critical care medicine to house staff. After completing the fellowship, the awardee will be fully prepared to pursue a clinical or academic career in pulmonary medicine.
