New at ARC

The Arizona Respiratory Center announces a new Advisory Board. Bill Nevin, M.D., a leader in the pulmonary community, will be the new Advisory Board Chairman.

The announcement comes at a time of tremendous growth for the Respiratory Center and the new Board will be active leaders in its future. "I am gratified to serve on this Board made up of individuals who support the Arizona Respiratory Center's dedication to understanding the origins of respiratory diseases and its mission to remain on the cutting edge of discovering treatments and preventions for these debilitating diseases," said Dr. Nevin.

"The Center has long enjoyed an international reputation for its research and treatment of respiratory diseases. With this Board we now have a first-rate group of individuals who share our dedication to understanding and eradicating respiratory disease. The Board will help the Arizona Respiratory Center create meaningful partnerships in the community and will be indispensable to helping us shape a successful future," said Fernando Martinez, M.D., Director of the Arizona Respiratory Center.

The Arizona Respiratory Center Advisory Board Members are the following:

  • Celestino Fernandez, Ph.D., Professor of Sociology, University of Arizona

  • Jan Harrison, who also serves on the Board of Directors of the Congenital Central Hypo-Ventilation Syndrome board

  • Steve Henry, who works in his family's business, Baskin Robbins on Wrightstown Road and is a cystic fibrosis and diabetes patient

  • Caroline "Liney" Jessen, who has been active in Yuma Friends of Arizona Health Sciences since its inception

  • Janel Lloyd, M.D., Catalina Pediatrics, PC

  • Molly McKasson, a Mentor Specialist with the Tucson Unified School District and freelance writer

  • Bill Nevin, M.D., FACP, FCCP, Pulmonary Associates of Southern Arizona,
